Did you ever wonder what the bin out front of the Burke is for? This bin is owned and operated by Baystate Textiles and is a drop off location for unwanted textiles! They partner with schools and communities to create a process for diverting clothing donations along with shoes and fabrics away from the solid waste stream. Instead of being thrown away, textiles create a new source of revenue for your community.
Burke PTO gets a kickback once a month from Baystate Textiles. The amount depends on the weight of what is in the bin. Products they accept include:
- Clothing
- Hats
- Pocketbooks
- Belts
- Duffle Bags
- Scarfs
- Shoes, Boots, Cleats
- Sheets and Blankets
- Draperies and Curtains
- Linens and Stuff Animals
- And more!
